David E. Sprott is the Henry Y. Hwang Dean and Professor of Marketing at the Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management at Claremont Graduate University, and serves on the faculty at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. He previously served as Dean of the College of Business at the University of Wyoming and spent more than two decades at Washington State University, where he held the Boeing/Scott and Linda Carson Chair of Marketing and was a member of the college’s senior leadership team. His research spans retailing, branding, influence strategies, and marketing public policy, and has been published in leading academic journals including the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, and the Journal of Applied Psychology.
Sprott brings extensive academic leadership experience across multiple institutions, with a focus on strategic growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, and program innovation. At the University of Wyoming, he led a broad portfolio of college-wide initiatives, including strategic planning, accreditation, student success, and faculty affairs, guiding the college through successful AACSB re-accreditation and launching the Green Johnson Student Success Center following a $3.5 million capital campaign. During his tenure at Washington State University, he played a central role in expanding nationally recognized online graduate and international programs, developing entrepreneurial, revenue-generating initiatives, and building global partnerships across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
